Lake Wanaka – Mt Aspiring Scenic Journeys.  2 Night, 3 Day Package

This package combines the highlights of Lake Wanaka and the spectacular scenery of Mt Aspiring National Park.
 
Day 1 Arrive Wanaka
Arrive at your Wanaka Collection Lodge and check in.

This afternoon enjoy either a leisurely stroll (or mountain bike ride) along the shores of Lake Wanaka – you could visit Rippon Vineyard and taste their local wines. An alternative for those more active, the 1.5 hour walk up Mt Iron gives you stunning 360 degree views of the Lake Wanaka region. Return to the Lodge for aperitifs before enjoying one of Wanaka’s great restaurants for your evening meal.

Day 2 Mt Aspiring National Park
After breakfast, you will be collected by Wanaka River Journey’s to enjoy their eco jet boat journey up the Matukituki Valley , through Lord of the Rings locations towards the Mt Aspiring National Park with views of Avalanche Glacier and a walk in one of the remnant Beech Forests.

An optional extra during this journey is to be collected by Aspiring Helicopters for a 25 minute scenic flight to look at spectacular glaciers in the Mt Aspiring National Park – includes a high altitude snow landing. Afternoon is at leisure.  Enjoy Wanaka’s cafes and galleries or maybe an optional visit to Puzzling World.  This evening join your hosts for apertiffs, before heading out for your evening meal.

Day 3 Lake Wanaka
Enjoy a leisurely breakfast at the Lodge.

After you have checked out and if your itinerary permits, an additional option for this morning is to enjoy the Lake Cruise and Mou Waho Nature Walk with Eco Wanaka Adventures.  This involves a 35 minute cruise to Mou Waho Island where you walk the track to Tyrwhitt Peak to enjoy the 360 degree views.  You can also assist the reforestation of Mou Waho by planting a tree.

• Prices are valid to 30 April 2010;
• Additional cost for Aspiring Helicopter Flight is $350 per person;
• Additional cost for optional Eco Wanaka Adventures Lake Cruise and Mou Waho Nature Walk is $170 per person;
• Additional cost for alternative activity with Ridgeline Adventures - Wild Hills & Wine Adventure, a spectacular 4WD backcountry adventure trip which includes a visit to Rippon Vineyard, a boutique winery on the shores of Lake Wanaka.  $195 per person;
• Package price includes: Accommodation for 2 nights at your Lodge of choice in a double room with ensuite including breakfast and aperitifs daily, transportation and tour as specified, GST.
