WANAKA RIVER JOURNEYS

The Matukituki River, Fed by Glaciers and surrounded by the peaks of Mount Aspiring National Park is one of New Zealand’s great Mountain Rivers. Wanaka River Journeys jet boat this fast flowing river past Lord of the Rings locations, watched over by Mount Aspiring and Glaciers.

Along the way your guide will share with you stories of the past, of how these ancient lands were carved by ice and of the first peoples to come here.  Also enjoy a 50 minute wilderness walk through native beech forest to a waterfall. Optional is a helicopter pick-up from the river for a flight into the spectacular Avalanche and Rob Roy Glaciers.
